AIMS OF THE SCHOOL

To provide a supportive environment with Christian values where children feel happy and secure.

To provide a broad, balanced, relevant curriculum to develop skills, knowledge, creativity and independence to equip the children to move confidently into the future and reach their full potential.

Hello and welcome to our school website…

We are a Church of England School in the heart of a small, picturesque village in west Norfolk and, in September 2013, we formed a partnership with Harpley Church of England Primary School in the next village. This has resulted in the two schools working closely together to provide lots of shared learning opportunities under the same Head Teachers, Mrs Kirsten Stibbon and Mrs Sophie Stephens.

In September 2015 we consolidated the cooperation between the two schools and became Great Massingham and Harpley Church of England Primary Schools Federation.

Great Massingham Church of England School is a happy place where everyone is respected and valued. In 2015 both Ofsted and SIAMS inspections judged the school to be GOOD. A short Ofsted inspection in December 2018 confirmed that ‘the school continues to be GOOD’ and ‘has continued to improve since the previous inspection.

The school has a warm family atmosphere with great value placed on the partnership between home and school. The views of parents are always valued. If you would like to share your views on the school with Ofsted please click on this link to visit their Parent View page.

We aim to develop and promote trust, respect and care for one another as core Christian values.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum with core subjects including ICT, humanities, sport, music, and languages. We aim to achieve high standards through a curriculum that challenges our children’s thinking allowing them to become confident independent learners with life skills and understanding to apply the knowledge they learn and to reach their full potential.

At Great Massingham Primary, we will use our best endeavours to ensure that all children learn and progress well, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). A few words from Reverend Judith Pollard:
Our school is a supportive, creative environment where we all aspire to be the very best we can be. Every child is encouraged to engage with the Christian ethos of our school through daily assemblies, where diversity is valued and achievement celebrated. In our school we explore together the importance of faith and spirituality from a broadly Christian perspective, whilst also valuing and respecting other faiths and beliefs and values for life such as kindness, generosity and mutual respect.. We have good links with our local church which we visit for services throughout the year. It is a privilege to be part of this motivated, inspirational school community.
